Kinnaird Rangers Society Annual Tutorial 2025: "Wo Jo Pasa-e-Parda Hai"
Kinnaird Rangers Society held its annual tutorial titled “Wo Jo Pasa-e-Parda Hai” (The One Behind the Curtains). This event aimed to shed light on an often-overlooked truth—that behind every successful woman, there is often a man who has supported her journey. To express this powerful message, the event featured a mesmerizing Kathak performance by Jessica, an Intermediate Part 1 student at Kinnaird College and a professional Kathak dancer. In a deeply emotional and symbolic act, Jessica performed alongside her mentor—her father, Zakria Iqbal Sahab. Their performance beautifully illustrated how her father’s unwavering support played a crucial role in shaping her into the person she is today.
Adding prestige to the event was the presence of our esteemed guest, Sir Shahzad Nawaz, a highly respected figure whose insights and wisdom added immense value to the gathering.
The Kinnaird Rangers Society continues to uphold its mission of embracing both strength and grace, fostering conversations that empower women while acknowledging the silent forces that uplift them.

These pollutants pose serious health risks including respiratory illnesses, cardiovascular problems, and long-term effects on vulnerable populations such as children and the elderly. Celebrating the victory of Marka-e-haq earned by the brave armed forces of Pakistan– Under the leadership of Respected Principal Dr. Iram Anjum, Kinnaird College for Women celebrated Youm e Tashaqur on 19th May 2025. The programme opened with a powerful video that highlighted the valor and unwavering strength of Pakistan’s armed forces. It depicted the tireless dedication of our soldiers — standing guard on the borders through long nights and responding fearlessly in times of national crisis. The most poignant moments of the event came when the family members of the Shuhada shared their heartfelt reflections. Mrs. Col Abbas, mother of Lt. Yasir Abbas; Mrs. Farah Ishtiaq, wife of Col Ishtiaq; and Mrs. Afifa Tasadaq, wife of Major Saddam Malik, took the stage to speak about the unimaginable sacrifices their loved ones made for Pakistan. They reminded the audience of the courage it takes to walk into danger for the sake of the nation, and the quiet strength it takes for a family to let them go. Their words painted a vivid picture of how the armed forces not only defend borders but become symbols of national spirit and integrity. Ms. Mughaira presented a moving tribute to the Shuhada in the form of heartfelt national songs that captured the spirit of devotion and sacrifice. Students also delivered powerful speeches, expressing their gratitude and admiration for the armed forces. Following their stirring accounts, Principal Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum addressed the gathering. She expressed deep gratitude to the families and emphasized the critical role our armed forces play in ensuring the country’s peace and security. She emphasized the importance of always staying positive and united, even in the most difficult of times. To culminate the event, the principal, faculty members, and students joined a symbolic walk with a banner in honour of the Armed Forces of Pakistan. language from Shakespeare to Iqbal
The journey of language from Shakespeare to Iqbal reflects the timeless power of words in shaping thought, culture, and society. Shakespeare, with his mastery of the English language, gave the world expressions of human emotions, complexities, and universal truths that continue to inspire generations. His words painted the depth of love, tragedy, ambition, and destiny in a way that transcended time and geography. Centuries later, Allama Iqbal carried the torch of expression in the East, using the richness of Urdu and Persian to awaken selfhood, faith, and the spirit of freedom among his people. While Shakespeare explored the drama of individual lives, Iqbal stirred the collective soul of nations. Together, they demonstrate how language, whether in the hands of a Western playwright or an Eastern philosopher-poet, becomes a force to enlighten minds and transform societies.
